Patricia Espinosa, the Executive Secretary of the Framework Convention of Climate Change, reveals the details of the United Nation Framework for Climate Change and argues why, with so much wealth, it is unacceptable to have so much poverty in the world. Her articulation demonstrates her expertise in a wide variety of fields such as international relations, Climate Change, global governance, sustainable development, gender equality and the protection of human rights. Espinosa posits how it is possible to bring everyone out of poverty by providing sanitation, clean water, health care, and education to everyone on the planet. Executive Secretary Espinosa also details how the education of women and girls is integral to eliminating poverty, especially with females accounting for over half the world’s population. She also examines the inverse relationship between Freedom and Poverty as well as the roles corruption and transparency play. Espinosa analyzes key elements of the Paris Climate Agreement as well as the process related to the withdrawal by the United States from the accord and the ramifications of America’s departure from international agreements.
