Dambisa Moyo

In Part One of this two-part series, Dambisa Moyo, global economist, author, international speaker, and a member of the Board of Directors at Seagate, Barclays Bank, Barrick Gold, and Chevron, joins Aaron to discuss globalization, trade strategies and policies, how to improve education and the performance of schools and students. She also touches on her concerns about the Global Economy: technological advances, and the relationship between the jobless underclass and technology, especially as it related to future job creation.  She posits that the demographics of the world --- now with 7.5 billion people and headed towards 10 billion --- demand extraordinary efforts to address underinvestment in education, income inequality, national resource scarcity, debt burden (especially in the U.S.), and lagging productivity growth. Dr. Moyo explains her hope that public policymakers will focus their attention on these issues before they become even larger and more difficult to solve. Dr. Moyo was named by TIME as one of the “100 Most Influential People in the World.”  Don't forget to watch the second part, too!
