Daniela Fernandez, the founder, and CEO of the Sustainable Ocean Alliance is innovating new solutions to reduce human impact on the environment. As a student at Georgetown University her passion for real, timely change in climate conservation – specifically the health and cleanliness of the world’s oceans – was ignited and she created the Sustainable Ocean Alliance. The organization has matured over the years in both size, financial status, and impact. As a member of the exclusive Forbes 30 Under 30 list, Daniela describes the late nights and hard work it took to make her passion project a success. Writing emails, making contacts, and developing new ways to support inventors working to make the ocean plastic-free are all a part of her success.
The Sustainable Ocean Alliance is more than a tech company accelerator offering financial support, education, and mentorship to its companies. The SOA also supports young people around the world offering them access to international policymakers, attendance at prestigious conferences, and overall support for their innovations in climate conservation.
