His Excellency, Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic of Rwanda, shares with Aaron the singular role that rebuilding the Rwandan economy after the 1994 genocide has played throughout his presidency. Kagame discusses some of the many steps he has taken to promote healing in his country as well as engendering economic prosperity. One of the ways he has done this is via policies which encourage women to reach their full potential in Rwandan society. As a result, today women in Rwanda have a remarkable role not only in the country’s culture and economy but also in the operation and decision-making of its government.
