In his career John has drawn, Spiderman, Superman, Ironman, Daredevil, and Captain America just to name a few. He talks about growing up with a father who is a comic book art legend and how that affected his work ethic and career.
In Part 2 of this two part series, Marvel and DC Comic Book Artist John Romita Jr. gives examples about how he used lessons in his life, such as when his father taught him how to box, in the development of stories and artwork for the superhero’s he drew. Romita also explains how he learned about storytelling and relates it to many of the movies he saw growing up such as “On the Waterfront” and “Twelve Angry Men.” Romita reveals how the Spiderman story he crafted about 911 was so respectfully created.
